Education for ascertaining future image after graduation and
learning more practical technology skills

The following education is performed to achieve four sub-goals.

In graduate schools, students, affiliated to laboratories, are expected to work hard
by themselves on their own research themes and study corresponding
technologies intensively. QITO is the same as other departments/
courses with respect to this point. However, a distinguishing
characteristic of QITO lies on that it performs an education
for ascertaining future image when going out to the society
after graduation and learning more practical technology
skills.

As you all know, working with many team members on a
project is almost the case in organizations such as
companies etc. Therefore, mastering skills for project
management and deep-drilling of technologies
through projects in graduate schools is considered to
be a beneficial education for students and society.

QITO is to perform such education. Based on this
consideration, QITO creates clear targets called “goal and four sub-goals” and carries out education through three featured approaches.

PBL

PBL/Project Based Learning

The students in some groups solve some problems from real companies.
They acquire the practical skill by the spiral training in 1st semester of 1st-year, 2nd semester of 1st-year, and 1st semester of 2nd-year.

ICT All-Round Education/Omnibus

Various lectures by the top of companies or the technical specialist are held.
The students acquire the skill of communication through a question-and-answer period with lecturers.

Long-Term Internship

Long-Term Internship

The students experience the long-term internship one or two months.
They can select one from about 100 positions provided by more than 20 companies.

Two Year

Fostering ICT architects who are the driving force of next-generation information society

In the two-year master course, it is the basic to proceed with one’s own research theme in his supervisor’s laboratory and finally prepare his master thesis.

In addition to the above, PBL is performed in the 1st and 2nd Semesters of 1st-year as well as 2nd Semester of 2nd-year master course. Furthermore, lectures are given in the 1st and 2nd Semesters of 1st-year master course.
Intensive lectures are giving in the 1st week of summer holiday.
Long-term internship is performed from the middle for August to the end of September.

Master thesis research should be concentrated on the 2nd year of master course.
